Heer was a beautiful girl born into wealthy family of the all clan in Jung Punjab. Ranjha full name was handsome young man from the ranjha clan in takhat hazara. After a dispute with his brothers over family inheritance ranjal left home and wondered through the countryside eventually reaching heer’s village.

When ranjha arrived he was mesmerized by heer’s beauty. Heer too fell deeply in love with him. she arranged for him to work as a caretaker of her father’s cattle so they could meet in secret their love grew stronger over the time.

However when the relationship was discovered he is family became furious he is parents and uncle kaido disapproved of ranjha because of his lower status they forced him into marriage with another man saida khera, against her will. On the wedding day heer was drugged to ensure she wouldn’t resist.

Heartbroken ranjha became hermit wandering the land later he found heer’s location and with the help of relatives and friends planned to reunite with her after much hardship the two managed to convince heer’s parents to let them Mary.
